No church or their denomination has a monopoly on the mission to which Christ called us. We believe in coming together across our traditions and expressions to benefit our community to preach the gospel in both word and deed. We are part of Ingatestone and Fryerning Churches Together. Elim Missions
Sid and Laura Thurlow are our interns, following their time in the Elim Misions Academy and before they go overseas. Their details are below.
We partner with Elim Missions through supporting missionary couples who go out around the world to bring the gospel and minister into communities. In preparation for overseas ministry we are hosting Sid and Laura as Interns for 12 months before they embark on ministry abroad. Below is a short bio for them. Sid and Laura both grew up in Suffolk. They married in 2008 and have lived in Guildford, Surrey for the last 12½ years, where Sid was working as a kitchen fitter at the time they moved. He went on to set up a painting and decorating business and is a skilled multi-trader. Laura worked at a Surrey charity facilitating giving to local community projects for 12½ years, serving as the charity’s Chief Executive for the last 3½ years. Sid and Laura are members of New Hope Elim Church, Guildford. In 2019-20, Sid completed the Ministry Foundation Certificate at Regents Theological College. In 2020-21, together they completed the Missionary Academy with Elim Missions and have made a commitment to pursue God’s calling on their lives to serve in His mission. Edge Ministries
We felt the Lord lead us to support a UK based work that wasn't in our own area and this has been realised in our relationship with Carl Beech and Edge Ministries.
We have chosen to specifically support their Edge Centre in Staveley, Derbyshire, through regular financial support and working links during the year.
As well as supporting Elim Missions, we encourage our members to give toward the Staveley project on top of their tithe and this can be done through our finance director, Susan.
We will be updating this area as our relationship develops.
Through the Roof
Through the Roof is a charity which, among many other things, helps resource churches to become inclusive places of worship for people of all abilities.
Our Roofbreaker Champions are John and Sheri Cavill - their role is be a point of support and contact for people who have additonal needs to enable their church participation more easily. They work with Pastor Lee to bring about the necessary changes across the church where we are able to do so. For more information on Through the Roof visit their website.

Safeguarding is a priority at Ingatestone Elim Church. As well as being supported by the Safeguarding team at Elim Headquarters, we are members with thirtyone:eight, an independent Christian safeguarding advisory service.
